I started this Blog to basically ramble about things and to share with you anything interesting I come across or find out in relation to Computers, Games, Harware, Gadgets, Blogging or Internet (affiliate) Marketing.

I am an avid gamer but not as much as I was back in my teens and 20′s, my earliest fond memories of gaming began with a text based game Frankenstein, My Mother, Sister and I spent many hours trying to work out what to type to progress in the game, next was a Space game somewhat like Galaxian on the Microbee of which the name eludes me.

From this I progressed to a 386 then a 486 and this is when things started to get better, I bought myself a SVGA video card and an Adlib sound card which allowed me to play in colour and hear digitised sounds, the games I played came from Sierra (Kings Quest, Leisure Suit Larry and Police Quest), Games from Dynamix (Red Baron, Aces of the Pacific), Accolade (Test Drive with all its add ons and Gunboat,) Microprose (Silent Service, Master of Orion, Master of Magic, F19 Stealth Fighter, M1 Tank Platoon, Gunship and the Xcom series games).

In the 90′s and early 2000′s I used to go to LAN parties quite often here in Canberra and in Sydney. The games we mainly played were First Person Shooters (FPS) Quake, Unreal, Counterstrike and even in earlier times Duke Nukem 3D, we also played non FPS games like Command and Conquer, Diablo 1 and 2, Starcraft and Warcraft I II and III, as broadband internet usage increased less and less people wanted to go to them as they could play the games they liked online and any downloads they wanted they could download themselves.

I used to play World of Warcraft (WOW) from September 2005 till 2009 then I woke up and realised what a time waster it was. The last online paid game I played was Eve Online, I stopped playing it in late 2010 in the end I ended up with 35 Million skill points. The last ship I flew was a Nighthawk I couldn’t even fly it when i bought it, it took me 3 months of training to be able to.

I’ve dabbled in online browser games, Travian was one which took up way too much of my time. The first time I played it the alliance I was in was gobbled up by a group called Kaboom and we won with the help of some allies.

I occasionally get to play games still, lately it has been Dawn of War, Starcraft 2, Torchlight, Dragon Age 2 and sometimes I’ll fire up the Xbox for a game of Halo and I even got into singing a bit with a game called Lips.

As time moves on I find less and less time to game, especially since I try to write here every so often.

Hopefully you will gain some insight from my ramblings.

Cheers

Aaron
